Project Raushni was initiated to address the lack of adequate lighting in the Dhobi Ghat area of Batla House, a neighbourhood where poor illumination routinely affected mobility, safety, and daily functioning. In partnership with Janman People’s Foundation, SEEKH Foundation implemented a sustainable and low-maintenance solar lighting solution to meet this essential community need.
Implementation
Over a period of three months, 7 solar street lights were installed across key points identified in consultation with residents. Priority locations included narrow lanes, commonly used pathways, and areas where inadequate lighting posed safety risks, especially for women, children, and elderly residents.
Impact
The intervention created several tangible improvements in the community
